What to Expect

Here's a step-by-step tour of what you can expect when you attend Frederick Christian Fellowship Church for the first time:

Everything that goes on at FCF Church is planned for the person attending for the first time. As a first-time guest we want you to feel welcomed, but not pounced on. We want you to experience a warm and friendly atmosphere, without feeling weird or uncomfortable.

The Parking Lot
The FCF experience begins in the parking lot. VIP parking for first time guests is provided directly in front of the main entrance to the building. Just follow the signs as you enter the parking lot. A few friendly people will be there to greet you and assist you in a casual manner.

Guest Services
As you enter the building, you'll be greeted by our Guest Services personnel who will help you find your way around. They've been trained to help you and will answer questions you may have regarding your experience.

Casual/ Comfortable
You'll see that people are dressed very casually and comfortably.  We hope you’ll enjoy a cup of coffee from our Coffee Bar.  Rest rooms are located to the left of the main foyer, just before you get to the coffee bar.

Children's Ministry Security Check In
A computer kiosk is located just inside the front entrance doors.  This is where you can register your children for their classes, which they attend while you are enjoying the adult service in the main auditorium.  We realize that, sometimes, first time guest are uncomfortable leaving their children on the first Sunday.  But trust us on this one -- your children will have the best experience possible in their age-appropriate class.  They will experience an energizing and fun lesson that is relevant and meaningful to their lives.

Also, to ease your mind, we are very careful to maintain a safe and secure atmosphere for your children. All of our children's ministry volunteers have passed a security check and are carefully trained to take good care of your children while you enjoy the service.

The Guest Services personnel will escort you and your child to their appropriate classroom. Be sure to hang on to the computer print out you are given at the kiosk.  This is your claim ticket when you pick up your children at the end of the service.

The Main Service
The doors to the main auditorium (at the right side of the foyer) open at 8:40 am for the 9:00 am service, and at 10:55 for the 11:15 am service.  The service begins with music played by a live band (drums, guitars, keyboards, etc.) and led by a vocalist or two. The words to the songs are projected on the side screens. We generally stand during the upbeat songs and people will usually clap along. If you're a newcomer, we know the music and songs are unfamiliar to you, so we ask that you relax and participate at a level comfortable for you; sing, or just listen; clap, or just observe.

The Offering
After the music set, we share some spiritual growth opportunities (announcements) and then take up an offering. The offering is a way for our regular attendees (those who consider FCF their church home) to support the ministry of FCF Church. We don't expect first time guests or newcomers to feel any obligation to participate in the offering. You're our guest and we want to treat you as such.

Drama/ Video
On some Sundays, you'll enjoy a video clip or drama following the music. These are designed to introduce the theme for that day. They hit on real-life situations we can all relate to, often with a little bit of exaggeration for humor. A unique part of the FCF experience is definitely laughter. We want your experience to be fun and enjoyable, as well as meaningful and relevant to your life.

Teaching
The next part of the service is the teaching time, usually presented by
our senior pastor, Randy Goldenberg. Randy speaks from his heart in a
very personable manner about real-life issues we experience today. In a
very powerful way he shows us each week how the Bible-a book several
thousands of years old-still applies to our lives today. The teaching
you will hear will be uplifting, motivating, and relevant to your life.

Guest Central
After the message, we sing a closing song and then an emcee closes the service.  At this time, as a First Time Guest, you are invited to stop by a section in the auditorium called “Guest Central” before you leave.  This is where we have the opportunity to meet you personally.  We have a gift for you that is just our way of saying thanks for spending your Sunday morning with us.  Also, you have the opportunity to meet our senior pastor, Randy, at Guest Central if you like.
